1. The Sun Fall- If you see a squirrel, rabbit, mouse, or vole and you are in a tree, leap out of the tree and with precise accuracy, land on top of the prey with claws unsheathed.
2. Sunny Dash- If you are hunting a rabbit or mouse, stalk the prey and then, when you are about three or four feet away, explode from the bushes, grass, or trees, depending where you are and then, at top speed, run towards your prey and pin them to the ground.
3. Parter Work- * This works with all prey types. In Sunclan fish, mice, voles, birds, rabbit, squirrels, ducks, wild turkeys, and rats are considered prey. We don't eat crow food though* Ask a clanmate to chase prey towards you and then pin the prey down.
4. Surrounding Prey- Ask some clanmates to help you surround some prey and then advance forwards, and your prey won't have anywhere to go. Then, tell two or three clanmates to jump on the prey.
5. Ambush and Leap- If you are stalking a bird, and if it starts flying away, put all your power into your back legs and leap upwards then grab the bird's wings with claws unsheathed and pull the bird to the ground and pin it down.
6. Sneaky Ray- If you are hunting a bird, creep up behind it and pin it down. Remember, don't let the wind carry your scent. Let the wind blow your direction so the bird doesn't smell you.
7. Water Slap- If you are hunting a fish stand about a yard away from the water so fish don't see your shadow and when the fish isn't suspecting anything, quickly slice your paw into the water and hook the fish with your paw.
8. Circular Sunlight- If you see prey that can't fly, such as squirrels, rats, mice, voles, moles, or rabbits, grab a clanmate and with your clanmate, you circle the prey and your clanmate does the same ( Remember, your clanmate runs the opposite way), so the prey can't get away. Then, push the prey to the ground.
9. Fox Leap- If you see a rabbit, vole, mole, or mouse hole, creep up outside of it and then suddenly leap upwards making no sound and thrust your paws into the hole and hook the prey's pelt.
10. Sunny Trio- If you see a bird on a low branch, get two clanmates to help you with this: You stand under the tree, unseen by the bird. Your clanmates climb on the opposite side of the tree, out of the bird's view. Then, your two clanmates go to two of the branches above the bird. One clanmate leaps, and if they miss, the bird will try to fly away. Then you or the other clanmate helps catch the bird.
11. Water Splash- You see a duck or a duckling. What you do is, if the duck is near the land, stalk towards the duck from behind, then propell yourself on top of the prey and drown them underwater.
12. Branch Pin- If a bird or squirrel is in a tree and you want to catch it, climb up the opposite side from the bird or squirrel and then step very quietly on the branch above the squirrel or bird. Then, jump on top of the prey and pin it down.
13. Scruff Shake- When hunting any ground creatures, sprint up to the prey and grab the animal's scruff and shake it till' they are dead.
14. Quick Nip- Sprint towards prey quickly and then nip their neck.
15. Splashing Dive- If you see water-dwelling prey, sneak up downwind behind the enemy and then leap into the water and drown your prey.
16. Stay Underwater, Prey- you see big or small prey near water, grab the prey and force them into the water and make sure the prey's head doesn't come above the surface. You have to not mind water and be able to swim to do this.
17. Decoy- If you are hunting prey that likes meat or 'bread', get the meat or bread and set it out. Then, wait quietly in the underbrush with several clanmate until an unlucky wanderer falls into your trap. ( Sometimes accidental attracts foxes or other cats...)
18. Fake-Out- If you see a group of prey that you know could escape, this move is handy. You roll over, or do a distracting thing, and pretend to not notice the prey. You continue rolling closer and closer until you are in striking range. While doing this, find a juvenile in the group that is fatter than the others, if there is one. Then, when you are within striking range, lash out your paw or use a hunting move to catch your prey.
Now that you've learned what prey we hunt and what tactics we use for catching our prey, I'll tell you some words us clan cats use that you might be unfamiliar with
